So I have to have a head shot for WPJA.com and I am really not fond of having my head shot (or any other part of me for that matter) but if I must I must. John Cardlin (my assistant and owner of JC3 Photography) took these for me and I appreciate it (thank you
Need some help though – which one do you guys like? I kinda like all of them a little but can’t decide. You can “like” or “comment” it doesn’t matter. I wanted something that wasn’t to stiff or uncharacteristic of me and my off beat sense of humor
Thanks a bunch!

Inspiring a child today . . . will make them excited about their future!
So last month I was invited to my oldest daughter’s school, St. James Elementary, to present at her Career Day. I was going to do it last year but I ended up with the flu and was quarantined for 5 days (yuck!
So this year I was determined not to get sick so that I could go and talk to all these 1st graders about my job as a professional photographer.
I was so ridiculously nervous (I am REALLY not good in front of a crowd) about my presentation. I had to do a 20 minute presentation to 5 different classes. Sounds easy enough but for those that know me when I start talking about photography I have a tendency to get very technical, which I figured if I did get technical I would totally loose a bunch of 1st graders
So I put together a slideshow and brought my cameras to show them.
The presentation was more of a hit than I ever imagined! I even had other teachers coming in to see the slideshow because they heard the kids oooh-ing and ahhh-ing. Mostly the kids were grosing out over the kissing pictures that I had in the slideshow. It was really funny
I did have 1 class of kindergartners that looked a little lost during my presentation – it’s amazing the difference in comprehension between kindergarten & 1st grade.
I had the BEST time doing the presentation. It was so great to see the kids get excited about my job and maybe I even inspired a few to maybe one day become a photographer.
A few days afterwards Alexis brought home some thank you notes that some of the kids had written to say thank you for coming to their class. Some of the things they said were so sweet – some were really funny. I just had to share some of them:
and you know I had to post the one my daughter Alexis wrote. Love you Lexie

Jessica & Chris’s Engagement – Charleston SC
It’s no secret that one of my favorite places to be in the whole world is Charleston, SC! For a photographer it’s full of color and texture – there is not a bad backdrop for photographs anywhere! So anytime someone says “Hey! Would you go to Charleston for a shoot?” You will never find me saying no
Jessica & Chris both grew up in South Carolina – Jessica in Charleston & Chris in Greenville. Their wedding this year is in Charleston in October (my fav month for weddings
so doing their engagement in Charleston was a no brainer! Boone Hall was our first stop (GORGEOUSNESS!!) – then on to Downtown (LOVE IT!) – then we ended at Jessica’s Mom’s house and got to play on the dock with their absolutely fabulous Chocolate lab – who by the way was totally a camera hound.
I can’t wait for this wedding in October!!! Jessica & Chris are such a fabulous couple – they are so relaxed with each other and you can tell they are truly friends.
